Based on the results of this study, the link between bras and breast cancer is about three times greater than the link between cigarette smoking and cancer.Oh my god.
- Women who wore their bras 24 hours per day had a 3 out of 4 chance of developing breast cancer
- Women who wore bras more than 12 hour per day, but not to bed, had a 1 out of 7 risk
- Women who wore their bras less than 12 hours per day had a 1 out of 52 risk
- Women who wore bras rarely or never had a 1 out of 168 chance of getting breast cancer
Time to rethink some habits. It’s hard for large-breasted women, though. I find not wearing a bra quite uncomfortable, even at home. Then again, probably not as uncomfortable as cancer…

Pollution.
Upper picture: Thousands of scrapped taxis are abandoned at a yard in the center of Chongqing city on March 4, 2009. Traffic congestion and pollution have worsened dramatically in Chinese cities as the country’s long-running economic expansion has allowed increasing numbers of consumers to make big-ticket purchases such as cars. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources reported in 2008 that the Philippines hosts 50 major polluted rivers, with a majority of pollutants coming from domestic waste. EPA/FRANCIS R. My friend Jess got mugged two years ago on Essex and Stanton. We were walking along with another friend of mine, G, at about 9:30 on a Saturday night when some guy came up to Jess and tried to grab her purse off her shoulder. They struggled for a moment while G and I gawped because at first we didn’t realize what was happening. Guy got the purse, sprinted down the street while Jess and I watched him stunned —- when suddenly G went zooming by us in full-speed pursuit. We watched them cross the street and disappear around the corner, completely speechless. A moment later, G reappeared and held J’s purse aloft. Apparently the mugger hadn’t expected to be chased, had slowed down around the corner and was surprised to hear G run up behind him and growl, “I’m faster than you…drop the purse!” and had flung it away and kept running. G came back and we hugged and kissed him and then pummeled him for chasing after a mugger. Not. Smart.
kind of the best story ever.
I don’t know if it’s ever worth it. A guy I knew was playing basketball in LA when a young highschool kid came up to him and stole his iphone. My friend, thinking this was just some young thug, chased the kid. The kid turned around and shot my friend. He died. Sorry to be somber but you never know.

Sooo, last night I went to a Robin Hood Charity Event at the Javits Center. Jon Stewart was the host and I like many, many people love him. However, many of his jokes were met with quiet applause by the largely hedge fund/finance crowd. Comments like, “Tonight is a chance for Wall Street to help all those people hurt so badly by … Oh, sorry,” for instance. And then he beamed in “Bernie Madoff” for an interview from jail and when it was over, some people applauded. Stewart said, “You guys just applauded Bernie Madoff.” But whatevs! It was great and it raised more than $72 million.
